I don’t know about you, but I am so looking forward to 2014! I have some amazing weddings booked with some wonderful couples and I have no doubt this will be the best year yet.
I have decided to expand the purpose of this blog. Originally it was primarily a place for displaying photos. I have been a photographer since 1996 and a photojournalist since 2002, and during all the years I have been photographing weddings. I photographed them randomly, just a few here and there for friends or people who knew me from the various newspapers I’ve worked for. I never want to leave journalism — I love it — but last year was the first year I have put so much energy into building a photography business of my own. And the results have been better than I could have imagined. I am so deeply grateful to all the brides who have hired me and fellow photographers who have advised me and friends who have supported and encouraged me. I don’t have a clear vision of where all this is going, but I am grateful…
This is not my photo (I wish I could have been there). This is a video capture from the recording of Michael Ball and Il Divo performing Love Changes Everything. The song is one of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s from the musical Aspects of Love. and is part of the new album from Il Divo: A Musical Affair (which I actually purchased today).
I love Michael Ball. He has been one of my favorites since seeing him in Les Miserables: 10th Anniversary Dream Cast dvd as Marius. On a personal note: I know a lot of people loved the Hugh Jackman movie, but if you want to hear the music sung the way it should be, don’t miss this recording. The best moment of the new film was when Colm Wilkinson, the one and only Jean Valjean, made a special appearance in the film in the role of the priest.
